Demartek Featured in Storage Decisions Article

In June, Dennis Martin presented two sessions at the Storage Decisions Conference in Chicago. The highlights of Dennis Martin’s presentation titled, A Practical Guide to Fibre Channel over Ethernet, are discussed in this SearchStorage.com article.
The emergence of Ethernet alongside Fibre Channel (FC) in storage networking requires careful planning and new strategies for future implementations, according to presenters on the opening day of the Storage Decisions conference.
In the session, “A Practical Guide to Fibre Channel over Ethernet (FCoE),” Demartek president Dennis Martin did a deep dive into the FCoE architecture and looked at FCoE products that are available today and coming in the near future.
Martin said a big problem of today’s non-converged world is that running separate Fibre Channel and Ethernet networks requires many parts, especially when you include cabling and adapter cards.
“What’s the bang for your buck [with FCoE]?” he said. “You get speed but also fewer pieces of infrastructure.”
